Wednesday Classes
Watercolour painting lessons with me, Kirstin White, give you instructions on how best to use and be imaginative with watercolour paint.
Classes include demonstrations, inspiration, and planned progression with the medium.
As the terms continue, you will learn increasingly more about drawing, colour theory, composition, ways of seeing, and your creative self.

Thursday Classes
Thursday Classes follow the same programme as Wednesday Classes.
Each half term, there is a totally different theme for the lessons.
Whilst there is ample instruction, you are actively encouraged to become your own independently creative artist.

Classes have a different theme each half term.
Themes might be painting subjects, painting styles, watercolour techniques and more.
To maintain the novelty and challenge of classes, I change the type of content significantly from one half term to the next.
I deliver then same lesson on Wednesday morning, again on Wednesday afternoon, and again on Thursday morning. Sometimes also on Thursday afternoon.
If for some reason you have to miss your regular lesson, you are welcome to catch up in a different time slot.

There will be a lesson in the morning.
Members who stay all day tend to do their own thing in the afternoon. This may be experimenting with versions of the morning lesson, or working on something creative that they have brought with them from home. I am, of course, on hand to guide and mentor as required.

Please bring the materials and equipment from this list:-
Your mobile phone
Winsor & Newton Artists Professional Watercolours (or equivalent) in Winsor Yellow, Winsor Blue Green Shade, Permanent Rose, Burnt Sienna and French Ultramarine. I prefer tube paints and squeeze them into empty pans which are then kept in a tin palette.
Two good quality brushes in sizes 10 and 4. I buy from Rosemary Brushes.
Watercolour paper around A4 size. Arches or Saunders are suitable brands. We mainly use a cold pressed (Not) surface and a paper weight of 140lb/300gsm.
6B pencil, pencil sharpener or knife, eraser, kitchen roll, two clean empty jam jars for water, a large plastic daisy well palette for mixing.
You will sometimes also want tracing paper, copier paper, white gouache and sepia waterproof pens.

In addition, if you are looking for a weekly watercolour painting class, consider Thursday classes at the same location. All classes follow the same programme of work.
Each September, I run a six-week course for complete beginners who want to join a regular weekly class.

For those who are new to watercolour, or feeling rusty, I run a six week beginners’ course each September. Completion of this beginners’ course enables you to comfortably join any of the other classes (subject to spaces being available).

Where to Find Kirstin White Watercolours
Kirstin White Watercolours is based at Martyr Worthy Village Hall.
Martyr Worthy is a pretty village, just north-east of Winchester., Hampshire, UK. Travelling by road, it is only sixteen miles from either Basingstoke (via the A33), or Southampton (via the M3).
Martyr Worthy Village Hall is located in Church Lane, opposite St Swithun’s Church. Post code SO21 1DY.
Using public transport, a regular bus service runs between Winchester and Alresford, stopping at the top of Church Lane.
Immediately outside Martyr Worthy Village Hall, you will find stunning countryside walks. It is set amongst rolling fields and close to the banks of the beautiful River Itchen. Be sure to enjoy a wander when you visit! Kirstin White Watercolours.
